Timely delivery of products and goods is the anticipation of all dealing with freight carried over America’s rail systems. But cold weather can throw a wrench in the works and create costly delays in any number of scenarios. Cold weather and the threat of frozen resources can certainly create big problems for the railroad industry. Powerblanket® offers solutions to solve weather related problems and prevent downtime before they happens.

As a case in point, a large US railroad company uses Powerblanket® heaters as an efficient heating solution for their 1000 lb. propane tanks. These propane tanks power generators along an entire railway system. Before wrapping their tanks in Powerblanket heaters, the cold temperatures kept their propane from vaporizing efficiently.

This caused insufficient pressure in the tank to run the generators. Powerblanket solved the problem by heating their propane tanks to an ideal temperature—which in turn, optimized the pressure and kept their generators running. With this solution in place, Powerblanket has helped to keep their operations on track by eliminating costly shutdowns caused by propane tank failures.
