Powerblanket’s 3'x'10' ground thawing heated blankets provide a fast, reliable solution for thawing frozen ground, keeping vehicle and equipment engines warm, and melting dangerous ice dams. Unlike typical concrete curing blankets, Powerblanket ground thaw blankets feature higher watt density and deliver uniform, full-coverage heat across the entire surface—eliminating hot and cold spots and ensuring efficient, even thawing.

These heavy-duty blankets are specifically designed to reduce downtime and eliminate the hassle of frozen ground during winter. They heat up to a preset of 150°F ±10°F (65°C ±5°C), quickly melting snow and ice from roofs, walkways, and construction areas. When paired with a thermostatic controller, they offer even greater heat control for a variety of outdoor and industrial applications.

Thermal Rating Class

Ground thawing blankets are available in three different thermal rating classes:
  • Powerblanket - designed for standard heating applications, this model features a rugged vinyl shell and safely raises material temperatures as high as 145°F. It can operate in temperatures as low as -20°F.
  • Powerblanket Xtreme - built for harsh climates, this version also includes a rugged vinyl shell and safely raises material temperatures up to 145°F, functioning effectively in temperatures as low as -50°F.
  • ThawPro - professional-grade blankets engineered with the highest power density for rapid, deep thawing—melting 12–18 inches of frozen ground every 24 hours (depending on soil type, ambient temperature, and moisture). Designed for rugged jobsite use, they maintain a consistent 150°F surface temperature, provide uniform heat without hot spots, and withstand heavy foot traffic and extreme winter conditions.

All Powerblanket ground thawing blankets come in an insulated, water-resistant design for long-term durability and reliability. They are ETL certified to UL, CSA, and CE safety standards, ensuring safe and consistent performance in demanding environments.

    Curing Epoxy Resins

Curing epoxy resins with Powerblanket is easy and efficient! Most epoxy resin and hardener combinations require heat in order to cure since ambient temperatures are not high enough. If the epoxy resins are not heated high enough and evenly enough, the chemical, mechanical and heat resistance properties become compromised. In fact, some epoxy resins require heating in steps to prevent overheating from exothermic reactions.

Here's How Powerblanket Can Make Your Epoxy Curing Process Easier:

    Powerblanket: Simplifying Epoxy Curing

    • Even Heat Distribution: Ensures that resin cures uniformly and efficiently, preventing any overheating or underheating.
    • Preheat Molds with Ease: The blankets are great for preheating molds before applying epoxy.
    • Safe Heating for Critical Materials: Designed to heat resins safely without risking damage or compromise.
